Dory Richards, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Dory Richards has been freeing people from the obstacles that hold them back at her counseling center in Spring Hill, Florida, since August of 2017. Though Dory has been practicing as a therapist since 2012, her journey truly began as a child. She always knew she had a calling to help people heal, but her brother had told her that nursing would never be for her.

Dory brings a warm, compassionate, and caring energy to her clients. She specializes in improving self-worth, helping couples and families resolve conflicts, and developing powerful communication skills. Her work also includes effective parenting strategies, guiding clients through life transitions, reducing anxiety, and creating healthy boundaries. Most importantly, she instills hope, helps you create possibilities, and fosters a sense of inner peace.

Dory’s counseling philosophy is to listen without judgment and truly understand who you are, walk alongside you with compassion, and provide guidance and authentic feedback by coaching you through the process to create solutions.

Combined with cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-based Christian counseling, Dory is able to help you accelerate and maintain your journey to good mental health. This combined technique eliminates the obstacles of fear, depression, and anxieties that tend to hold us back.

Rebecca Dansie, Graduate Student Intern

Hello! I appreciate the time you take to look through profiles for the right fit in your therapy experience. Therapy can be extremely helpful with the right connection and healing for multiple areas of a person's life. Holistic healing is an important part of a person's journey in ensuring that they are receiving help in every area that is needed.

As a Student Intern of Marriage and Family Therapy, I have focused my time in practicing Couple/Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy with individuals, couples, and families. All of these therapies dig into the story around the problem and helps establish a good relationship between the therapist and client. While establishing the story, I can help with needed change in cognition, behavior, and emotions. This can create sessions that will be safe spaces for all feelings and patterns of thought. I work with all different mindsets, family structures, and backgrounds with trauma informed care.

A little about me:

I reside in Northern Florida with two sweet and spunky cats. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psycholoy from Southern New Hampshire I love an array of hobbies including singing, piano, aerial silks, outdoor adventures, and arts and crafts. I am currently converting to "tiny" life to really capture more experiences to enjoy in my life. I have a history of working with ages two years old and up, in multiple sectors of life. My current experience has been working as a Registered Behavioral Technician, implementing multiple techniques of ABA therapy with clients while in school to become a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Phoebe Schumacher

After 20 successful years in real estate property management and sale, I’ve embarked on a new journey

of reinvention, driven by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. As a cancer

survivor, I have learned first-hand the importance of resilience, tenacity, and empathy, qualities that

now shape my approach to mental health counseling, coaching, and beyond. I am an honor student at

Capella in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree program; my Bachelor's is in Criminal Justice

Human Services.

I bring a wealth of life experience, not just from my professional background but from the trials and

triumphs that have defined my personal journey. My ability to connect with others, especially those who

have faced trauma, is rooted in my own understanding of adversity and healing. I believe in creating a

peaceful, harmonious world—one person, one story, one healing moment at a time.

As I continue to grow in this new field, I am fueled by my passion for helping others find their path to

peace, balance, and self-discovery. My work as a coach, student, and mental health advocate is deeply

connected to my core values of empathy, authenticity, and holistic well-being. I’m excited to apply my

skills and heart-centered approach to roles where I can support and uplift those on their healing

journey
